PowerNet for Tivoli Enterprise

APC PowerNet for Tivoli Enterprise is a full featured robust power management application that is tightly integrated and certified with Tivoli Enterprise. It allows users to monitor and configure their APC UPSs, as well as shutdown and reboot the UPS.

Diagnostics
Predictive failure analysis (both TEC & NetView) The UPS conducts regular internal self-tests. When a potential problem is detected, like the need for a replacement battery, a notification is sent to the relevant administrators and users before the problem arises. This allows an administrator to be proactive in maintenance.
UPS Self-test (NetView only) Initiate self test of remote UPSs to maximize UPS uptime
Activate UPS Alarm (NetView only) Test whether UPS Alarm is active
SNMP trap based events logged in Tivoli (both TEC & NetView) Records power events with a description to enable diagnosis of UPS/power problems.
UPS Runtime Calibration (NetView only) Initiate runtime calculation of remote UPS to maintain accurate runtime values.
Event Handling
Over 70 SNMP trap based events reported For each of the over 70 power or environmental events, the administrator can configure Tivoli Enterprise to e-mail or page or take other necessary actions
Shutdown/Reboot
Reboot Load Reboot hung equipment that is connected to UPS
Turn off UPS Shuts off power to connected equipment. Excellent for situations where construction or maintenance is scheduled in a facility
Safe System Shutdown Shutdown the OS safely (PowerChute SNMP Agent required)
