A comprehensive service to assess the power quality and availability of the electrical infrastructure supporting a network environment.

The PowerAudit® Service is a power quality analysis focused on examining the electrical infrastructure of your building. This service is designed to increase the overall availability of your computing system. APC's PowerAudit service is performed by APC Certified Power Quality Engineers.

APC PowerAudit ensures unmatched reliability and uptime

The electrical infrastructure of your building is the foundation upon which you run all of your information technology equipment. With proper planning, bad power and power-related infrastructure problems can be avoided. A comprehensive site analysis of your electrical distribution can pinpoint the causes of costly systems failures.

Eliminate present problems/Avoid future trouble

The APC PowerAudit analyzes your electrical infrastructure and determines its impact on your core business. PowerAudit can be used to evaluate a facility in a proactive manner, or to identify and correct existing anomalies.

"The PowerAudit really opened our eyes. It uncovered a number of cable bends without wire harnesses that were affecting network speed, a tranformer that was not grounded, a neutral-to-ground bend in the electrical panel, and the cause of some annoying network transmission problems in the CEO's office: loose data cables running across flourescent bulbs. With untested wiring in the new building and a network that needed to come online quickly, we felt APC's PowerAudit could help us identify and prevent any potential power problems. We recommend APC because we realized early on that APC services are competitive, reliable and state of the art," said Scott Davidson, Manager of Development and Operations, Sarcom.

Building a highly available network

Whether you are installing a new network or migrating from one topology or operating system to another, examination of the basic wiring and grounding on-site should be the first step.

When conducting a PowerAudit, APC Power Quality Engineers survey the electrical distribution infrastructure and analyze wiring, grounding and the conformity to both the National Electric Code (NEC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) specifications. The Power Quality Engineers then make a predicative analysis of equipment performance and company susceptibility to power-related anomalies. All findings are documented in a full-length power infrastructure report.

"I now have peace of mind knowing that our facility is protected by the professionals from APC's Global Services Group and the APC Silcon," said Franco Pasquale, Simulator Team Leader, Boston Edison.

The APC PowerAudit provides you with the peace of mind you need to get on with the business of providing your users, customers and partners with the uptime they demand.
